Introduction

Marilyn and her Mangoes Watercolor Painting
2005 Library of Congress Staff Art Show

Marilyn Harris
is a self-taught  artist with a BFA degree in Fine Arts from Western Carolina University in NC.  Deaf since she was a toddler she found comfort in drawing and painting. While growing up in Georgia, she attended art classes outside of school but it wasn't until after her child was grown before she could really dedicate herself to painting.  She started out with watercolors exclusively and is currently doing oils. She enjoys painting landscapes, flowers, and still life.  She has done some portraits.  Although she does this part-time she is available for commissions.  She can be contacted by email:

Comments and questions are welcome.

She now resides with her husband and dog in northern Virginia where they enjoy gardening and fishing.
